We’ve hit 2
weeks! It’s weird how it feels like we’ve done a ton the last couple of weeks,
but we still have quite a ways to go. I guess that’s how these projects go.
While David did have this Friday off, we didn’t get to any work in the kitchen
due to a last minute trip to Cambridge. Earlier this week one of David’s cousin’s
husband, James, died in a diving accident for the navy. David felt it necessary
to make the trip to be some extra hands and/or ears for his family, which was a
great idea. While our hands were given a day’s rest, it was nice to sit down
with David’s Aunt Janice and his cousin Angela and hear about the life of her
brother-in-law. There were tears, but also many laughs while reminiscing about
their memories of him. I can only imagine what his funeral will look like,
being from a small town where it sounds like everyone knew James, as well as
his military comrades that will be making the trip to honor his memory. While I
never met James, I have no doubt in his love for his family, wife, country,
friends, and joy for life.
