The previous
day I had struggled getting the lazy susan door attached. David got up a little
earlier than normal so he had a couple minutes to get to the tasks I was
struggling with, including that dang bit that was still stuck in the cabinet. So
David swooped in to remove the bit and attach the door as easily as brushing
his teeth. This project would have been screwed a long time ago if it were all
up to me to get things accomplished.
I sanded and
spackled the extended wall hopefully one last time so I can paint and then we
can attach the last base cabinet. I was originally thinking we should go ahead
and put in the cabinets in the mudroom, but then I remembered part of the ceiling
that had not yet been put up. I figured it would be easier to get that in while
the cabinets and more stuff wasn’t in the way. With this in mind, we would need
more drywall. So I texted David the idea and he agreed. We would also need more
drywall for repairing the wall at the base of the stairs, along with building a
few walls to cover the added ducting. With any excuse to leave work, David came
home early and we took a trip to a local hardware shop to pick up 4 more pieces
of drywall. Weather was great and skies were clear so it was good timing to
pick them up. A particular assignment David has been working on at work has
kind of gone to shit so the rest of his night was consumed with phone calls and
emails. Sometime I wish I could do it for him but then he’d really be in a load
of crap.
