Day 62 April 17

The other day during our hardware store run we picked up some laminate samples. The sales rep told us you can order larger samples online for free, so this morning that is just what I did. You got to get the ball rollin’ sometime! Today was my day of running errands, and once I was finished I popped on over to David’s work to hang out since it was be-a-utiful outside! And yet again, any excuse to get out of the office David was all for, so when we offered for one of his coworkers to borrow our car while his was in the shop, it was only appropriate for David to finish work at home. I CAN justify that he worked the rest of his work day, but with much better scenery. You don’t get the feel of the wind blowing, the heat from the afternoon sun, or the enjoyment of listening to birds singing when you’re working in an office building :o)

While David was sun bathing and working, I was inside rebuilding the wall next to the fireplace. Awhile back when David opened the wall he found rotten base boards, so I replaced those and secured the studs. I also added horizontal studs as a nailer but for reasons too difficult to explain in words, they ended up being pointless. Oh well, in the end while I was off at training David finished putting up the paneling and the only thing left is the trim! He also added padding and carpet to the landing which now feels so good on my feet when I come down the steps!
