Day 60 April 15

Booyah! Counter top scheduled! I received a call from the manufacturer today and we agreed on next Monday to have someone come out to template the counter top. I can see the light!! The only thing is that since we are doing an undermount sink, we need to have the sink and faucet because at the house the time of the appointment so they can be templated into the design. That being the highlight of my day, next came cleaning. I’ve come to realize when the weekend comes I have no desire to wash dishes, put away clothes, or straighten up kitchen supplies. I really think it’s because I prefer to hang out with David as much as I can instead of doing all those mundane chores. It works out in the end because I have the time during the day on Monday to catch up on cleaning while David is at work.

David had another late evening so we didn’t do any work but we did come to a decision about the floors. This whole time we’ve been talking about the floors we have been searching for a definitive answer as to if we should glue or float. It’s obviously incredibly cheaper to float, but considering our concrete slab that is half above, half below grade, gluing would be ideal. We had a role of the foam stuff so we laid that out and set a few boards down to consider how the possibility of floating would feel. After a few passes by both of us, we came to the conclusion that the boards just moved and flexed too much with the pad. So glue it is! The rest of the night David was researching different glues we could use.
