At least this
weekend it wasn’t a ridiculously beautiful day and I was stuck inside all day for
training. While I was learning how to care for veterans and their families,
David was home alone. Duty continued to call, but at least he was in the comforts
of his own home while having to work. He basically worked another half day,
while still managing to build a cabinet! We had left the sink base in more of a
demolition condition, so David worked on repairing the poor thing. He attached
part of the side cabinet, as well as building the two additional working
drawers we’ll now have. He also blocked off the one cabinet that will be used as a filler, and added our previous laminant kitchen floor for the base of the sink cabinet that was all torn out during the demo phase. I couldn’t help but laugh when I came home and he
showed me his handy work in the garage. There were cords, tools, wood scraps
and screws everywhere! Because of the DIY nature of the cabinet, he was scrummaging
around the other cabinets that we’re not using to find the right piece/part for
the job. In the end we have a working cabinet that cost of $0! The only flaw
was how the added drawers wobble quite a bit. David recognized the same issue
and said he still needs to adjust a few things. All in all not a bad job David
:o)
